“...providing help - creating hope…”
|
The Father English Case Management Program located at 435 Main Street in Paterson, New Jersey was started in 1988 with the goal of being a “place of hope for the hopeless”. This employment assistance program and information referral project resulted directly from the need to assist clients who were being served by the agency’s existing emergency food pantry. While providing emergency food, a host of other problems came to light. With The support of parishes in the Diocese of Paterson, and community resources, this program is the agency’s attempt at meeting all these encompassing needs. Program activities include: providing emergency food for a three day period: helping clients secure part and full-time employment; case management (assisting the unemployed who may be eligible for benefits); helping with housing, family crisis and immigration concerns. The program also refers clients with substance abuse problems to detoxification/rehabilitation programs. Referrals from other agencies/parishes are honored. A verifiable emergency constitutes eligibility for assistance. The program serves residents of Paterson (individuals and or families) without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, sex or age. There is no fee charged. Days of service are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Sources of funding are the County of Passaic, Community Emergency Assistance funding, in-kind space and resources, and donations. |
