The Father English Center helps clients not only with emergency assistance, but by working to break the cycles of poverty and disadvantage.

In conjunction with our pantries, this program provides an avenue for clients seeking additional services, such as employment, referrals to detox programs, immigration support, and a host of other crisis-centered needs.

Over one thousand adults are served through this program each year.

Days of service are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

For additional information, please contact: Juan E. Gonzalez, Program Director.

Our Work Assistance program links clients seeking jobs with various employers in Passaic County.

Bus tickets are provided to those needing transportation to interviews and the first day of work.
The Computer Training developed as a means to make clients more competitive in the job force.

Beginner and advanced cases are offered in the morning and evening.

About 150 students complete the computer courses yearly.

For additional information, please contact:Juan E. Gonzalez, Program Director.

English classes are taught in consecutive ten-week sessions each academic year (September through June), with basic, intermediate and advance levels.

Classes are offered three days a week, in both the mornings and evenings to accommodate students’ work schedules.

The program serves about 600 multicultural adults (primarily Hispanic, Arabic and Eastern European) from Paterson and surrounding areas.

Students gain vocabulary, grammar, conversation and cultural skills, and thereby overcome the challenges and fears they face in everyday life here in their new home of New Jersey—at work, at their children’s schools, and in the community.

For additional information, please contact: Maria Rosado, Program Director.

Since it opened in 1988 when about 60 clients were being served monthly, the pantry has continually expanded in its mission to meet the needs in food, clothing and furniture assistance among the working poor families and individuals from this community.

While most local pantries distributed pre-bagged grocery items, our pantry functions as a “client choice” pantry, where clients are free to select products that they need and use.  The program serves over 2,900 families a month.
